ITRA is an independent, autonomous, professional organization in the state of Iowa.

ITRA is a chapter of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
We involve professionals and students on the grassroots level, encourage networking with
other professionals in and out of the state and focus on the value of the Therapeutic Recreation
process within the healthcare delivery system.

Our Mission
To provide a statewide Therapeutic Recreation organization with the primary
focus on promoting the needs of Therapeutic Recreation professionals and other
related fields in health care and human service settings.

Our Vision
The Iowa Therapeutic Recreation Association is committed to the advancement
of the Therapeutic Recreation profession in the state of Iowa.
